Stargazer Lilies

A friend of my parents, and hopefully now my friend too, is a professional cake designer and instructor. She not only teaches the advanced classes of the Wilton method but she also teaches credit classes at Walters State Community College as part of their culinary program.

I feel fortunate because she wants to teach me "everything she knows" about cake decorating and making gum paste flowers, etc.!!! She is 70 years old and has no one to hand down her passion to, so I told her I would gladly be the recipient of her attention!!! She was so excited to have a day to teach me a technique, that she was flying through the instructions----and I was hanging on for dear life to keep up!!!

But the picture shows our finished product. I'll not tell you which ones are the instructors flowers and which ones are mine!! :) It was such a blast. I appreciate my mom for hosting our session and preparing us a lunch that had to be 4-star quality at least!!! Lora and I said we'd get together to make decorations just so mom could treat us!!!
